Last week, I was due to write my first post for #LifeBooksWriting Blog Challenge, however I got very busy with re-branding my website/blog, which is finally live. What do you think of it?
I am going to jump in with the second topic and talk about what is on my bookshelf and my latest read.
My bookshelf is currently living in my garden shed. My hubby and I are in the process of clearing clutter and freshening things up in our home. Right now, things are not being kept where you may typically expect to find them. Taking photo’s whilst stepping over plant pots, tools, lots of toddler toys, and a lawn-mower is not the easiest thing to do, so I will show you my bookshelf, another time!
I have read so many different books over the years: Romance, Thrillers, Horror, Autobiographies, Spiritual, Self Help, the list goes on… I do tend to favour Women’s Fiction, I really like Emily Giffin, and Jodi Picoult. It is very unlikely that I will pick up a sci-fi novel, but never say never.
I was looking on Amazon for a new book last week, when it suddenly occurred to me that during my clear out I stumbled upon a book that I still hadn’t read yet, despite having it since Christmas 2015: The Trials of Oscar Pistorius by John Carlin. Ever since I woke up to the news in February 2013 that a South-African model: Reeva Steenkamp had been killed by her boyfriend, Oscar Pistorius. I was gripped. I followed the case closely. I am fascinated by real life crime stories. So tonight, when I finally rest my head on my pillow, I shall be re-visiting the story of Oscar Pistorius and that fateful day when he killed Reeva Steenkamp.
